vista office 12 beta 1

Vista & Office 12 Beta-1

I installed the Office Beta-1 on Vista beta 2 5308.
I wanted to install Office 12 Beta-1 Tech Refresh. Vista would not let me uninstall.
The office program woul not let me upgrade. Any solution? or work around?

You cannot upgrade from Office 12 Beta 1 to the new Office 2007 Beta 1 Refresh. Although the new software supports Vista 5308, baadddd things happen if you don't follow the FAQ's on BetaPlace ;o)

Have you logged in as administrator? It might not be allowing access to the registry.

What are you concerned about Kevin?. This ng is about Vista, which is currently being beta tested and Scott asked a related question. If there is a problem with "Office 12 Beta-1 Tech Refresh" then we understand that it is in Beta stage too.

No, the 2007 Office System is no longer under NDA anymore. However, things such as the Server side to things... well we can't even name what the name of the Virtual Office will be... so that's under NDA. If you check BetaPlace, you'll see that we are allowed to blog, talk about and discuss openly about 2007 Microsoft Office System... it's the G******** Server side to things we can't talk about because that's a seperate thing altogther :o)

Easy way to think about it, is the core programs (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, and Publisher) can be discussed, anything else we have to keep mum about! But I'm guessing Kevin already knew that... :)

I, as a beta tester of Microsoft Office 2007, am very aware that I'm under NDA on certain portions of the suite. Further, I know what I can and cannot discuss in a public forum. This includes: Microsoft Office 2007 client applications; specifically refering to client-side features only in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, InfoPath, Access, Project, Visio and Publisher.
Before you start telling beta testers what we can and cannot discuss about Microsoft Office 2007 beta, I would suggest you go to the beta site and refresh your memory, because it seems you don't have it quite right.

Why not? Microsoft has given specific permission to talk about what's already public. What we can and cannot talk about is on the beta site. I'd suggest you go look before you get into a quagmire.

Oh and by the way, 2007 Office System is no longer under NDA, however the server products ARE. She hasn't made any reference to them whatsoever.
Please don't act the "beta police" - it's never been a popular job for anyone.
